Document Management
Systems

SEACON provides a scalable solution for tracking and managing changes to the vast amount of documentation in a
modern production facility. We use a modular approach with standard
Microsoft technologies to provide systems from a single user database to a
global internet/intranet based system. We also provide installation
and programming services to implement custom modifications.
The user interface to the system is written in Access for easy
modifications and addition of custom reports. The back-end database can be
Access, SQLServer or any ODBC database. Users are assigned to groups and
groups are assigned rights to view, modify and delete documents using
standard NT/Server 2000 authentication. The following screen shot shows the
main menu.

Clicking 'Document List' from the main menu displays the following
document summary list:

Clicking 'Details' from the Document List displays the following document
details. You can also page through the document details by clicking
'Document details from the Main Menu. Pressing the View button brings up the
document in the appropriate application based on the file extension. Native
formats include Microsoft Word, Excel and any document type viewable through
a Internet Explorer plug-in (i.e. PDF, TIFF, GIF, JPG or even movie or sound
files). Document images can be scanned in by pressing the "Scan" button
which launches the scanning application you have selected in the options
dialog or the default scanner wizard in Windows XP (Windows
98 default is the Kodak Imaging application).

Clicking 'Drawing Index' from the main menu displays the following
drawing index. Clicking 'View' opens the drawing in AutoCAD (or any AutoCAD
viewer such as the free Volo View Express from AutoCAD). Pressing 'Scan'
opens the Kodak Imaging software described above.
Clicking 'Revision History' displays drawing details along with a running
history of revisions for auditing changes.

Clicking 'Drawing List' from the Main Menu provides the following quick
summary of drawings with a link to details for the selected drawing and to
the CAD drawing viewer .

All forms include the ability to sort and filter on any field, including
Area and Category. The Report buttons on the Main Menu provide the same
information as the previous forms, formatted for printing. In addition any
form may be printed for quick reference.
Clicking 'Categories' from the Main Menu allows you to define standard
categories for documents and drawings as shown below. Categories can include
any alphanumeric characters.

Clicking 'Area' from the Main Menu allows you to define standard Areas
for documents and drawings as shown below. Areas can include any
alphanumeric characters.

Clicking 'Options' from the Main Menu allows you to define the directory
paths for documents and drawings as well as the ACAD viewer used to view
drawings.

The Document Management system may also be integrated with SEACON's
instrument database for tracking instrument data and calibration
history.
